Ellen Gould White
What does Ellen White write about...
Ellen Gould White über: "Should we pray for the armor of God for others?"
Answer
Yes, we should pray for others that they may put on the armor of God. Ellen G. White gives us a direct example for this, as she asks God to help people put on the whole armor of God, to prepare them for their service. Praying for one another is an essential part of the spiritual battle and preparation for service to God.
Prayer for the armor of God for others
»We have told them, Lord, that we would pray for them; and now we bring our petitions before you for them and pray that you may help them put on the whole armor of God. Take them into your care, Lord, and prepare them on this day for service.«
Armoring against Satan through prayer and the armor
»The Lord tells us through Paul how we should arm ourselves against Satan and his emissaries: “...Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the cunning attacks of the devil...” ... pray at all times with every prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watch over it with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.«
The example of intercessory prayer
»Christ has prepared the soul for temptation through His prior intercession... The word addressed to every Christian, as spoken to Peter, applies: “Satan has desired to grind you like wheat; but I have prayed for you that your faith may not cease.”«
The duty to pray for one another
»Confess your sins to one another and pray for each other, so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person can accomplish much.«
