What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Should we invite God in prayer during a gathering, or is it inappropriate because God is already present?"
Answer
It is by no means inappropriate to ask God in prayer for His presence; indeed, believers are expressly encouraged to pray that God may honor the gathering with His presence. At the same time, those present should always be fully aware, with reverence, that God and His angels are already present in the house of God. The prayer for His presence and His Spirit expresses the believers' desire and heartfelt orientation to receive God's work and blessing.
Corporate Prayer for God's Presence and Authority
»Every member of the congregation who fears God should also bow his head in silent prayer, uniting with Him, so that God may honor the gathering with His presence and give power to His truth, which is proclaimed by human lips. When the gathering is opened with a prayer, every knee should bow in the presence of the Holy One and every heart should rise in quiet devotion to God.«
Awareness of God's Presence and His Angels
»We must bring to every religious gathering a sharpened spiritual awareness that God and His angels are there and work together with all true worshippers. When you enter the place of worship, ask the Lord to remove all evil from your heart. Bring into His house only that which He can bless.«
God's Promise to Meet His People Through His Spirit
»Although God does not dwell in temples made by human hands, He still honors the gatherings of His people with His presence. He has promised that He will meet them through His Spirit when they come together to seek Him, confess their sins, and pray for one another.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
