What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Short quotes from Ellen G. White about beautiful music, spiritual singing, melody, harmony, and the power of music"
Answer
Ellen G. White emphasizes that music and singing are of deep significance when sung with spirit and understanding, harmony, and devotion, and that they can be a great force for good when used to glorify God. She points out that true worship leadership requires clarity, pronunciation, system, and order, and that music plays a natural role in worship services and praise days.
Music as a powerful expression of creation and a divine gift
»The ability to sing is a gift from God; let it be used to His honor.«
Harmony and spiritual melody in community
»Let the voices be raised in songs of praise and devotion. Call upon instrumental music when possible, and let the glorious harmony ascend to God as a welcome offering.«
Sing with spirit and understanding
»When people sing with spirit and understanding, heavenly musicians take up the harmony and unite with the song of gratitude.«
Music as an expression of divine praise
»Everyone who expresses praise and gratitude in songs, whether in daylight or in temptation, lifts their voice to God – thus music becomes a blessing for the soul.«
Order and devotion in worship
»They should find system and order in this matter as in every other part of the Lord's work.… The voices should sing in harmony, and they should practice so that they may use this talent to God's glory.«
