Jesus deeply longed to reach those people who were unaware of their spiritual need, such as the Pharisees and scribes. God actively sought ways to give these leaders light, even using the humble manner of the youthful Jesus to break down their prejudices and open their hearts. Although they considered themselves spiritually healthy, the Savior was eager to move them to repentance and replace their rigid traditions with living truth.
