What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Satan strives to suppress the truth."
Answer
Satan uses all his power and cunning to suppress the truth through subtle deceptions, errors, and trivialities, uprooting it from the hearts of people. He seeks to distract the spirit of believers from the Word of God, sow doubt, and mix truth with falsehood to nullify its influence. In this way, the adversary relentlessly strives to halt the advance of divine light on earth and replace truth with his own temptations.
Satan's Subtle Fallacies in Place of the Truth
»Satan does not sleep; he is wide awake to render the reliable word of prophecy ineffective. With skill and deceptive power he works to oppose the revealed will of God, which is clarified in His Word. For years Satan has gained control over human minds through subtle sophistries he has devised to take the place of truth.«
Distraction of the Spirit and Uprooting of the Truth
»Eventually it becomes the all‑dominating theme, a great point around which everything revolves; and the truth is uprooted from the heart. [...] It opens a door through which Satan will pour many errors to distract the spirit from the significance of truth for this time. Brothers, as an ambassador of Christ I warn you to guard yourselves against these trivialities, whose tendency is to divert the spirit from the truth. Error is never harmless.«
Satan's Efforts to Suppress the Truth
»From the beginning Satan opposed this work. He was determined to use all his power to silence and sweep from the earth those who were committed to promoting light and truth. [...] Slander and fierce resistance were mobilized to destroy the precious truth by discouraging its advocates. The great adversary has employed his hellish deceptions in various ways...«
The Mixing of Truth and Error as Deception
»If he openly admitted waging war against God and His law, people would take heed; but he disguises himself and mixes truth with error. The most dangerous falsehoods are those intertwined with truth. In this way, errors are absorbed that capture and ruin the soul. Through these means Satan drags the world away with him.«
Satan's Aim to Divert Believers from the Present Truth
»Satan now employs every means in this sealing time to keep the spirit of God's people from the present truth and cause it to falter. [...] Satan knew this, and he was at work with mighty power to keep the minds of as many people as possible wavering and indecisive regarding the truth.«
