Adventistische Schriften über: "Requirements for Salvation"

Answer

Salvation is based on the voluntary sacrifice of Jesus Christ, but it requires an active response from the person through repentance, faith, and obedience. The sinner must acknowledge his helplessness, confess his sins, and completely renounce them, while simultaneously trusting in the worthy blood of Christ.

God requires complete self‑surrender and obedience that springs from love and reflects harmony with His holy law. Faith and works are inseparably linked, for a living faith is always manifested through the observance of divine commandments.

Conditions for God‑childhood

»Obedience and submission to God’s requirements are the conditions that the inspired apostle names by which we become children of God, members of the royal family. ... Immortal glory and eternal life are the reward our Redeemer offers to those who will be obedient to Him. He has enabled them, through His name, to perfect a Christian character and to overcome for themselves, just as He has overcome for them.«

The Unity of Faith and Works

»The Lord now demands no less of the soul than He demanded of Adam in the garden before his fall—perfect obedience, flawless righteousness. God’s requirement under the covenant of grace is just as comprehensive as the requirement He set in the garden—harmony with His law, which is holy, just, and good. The gospel does not diminish the claims of the law; it elevates the law and makes it honorable.«

Repentance and Claiming the Remedy

»No matter who you are or how your life has been, you can be saved only by God’s appointed way. You must repent; you must helplessly fall upon the rock, Christ Jesus. You must sense your need for a physician and for the only remedy for sin, the blood of Christ. This remedy can be secured only through repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.«

Simple Conditions for Mercy

»The conditions for obtaining God’s mercy are simple, just, and reasonable. The Lord does not require us to do something difficult in order to receive forgiveness of sins. ... but whoever confesses his sin and lets it go will experience mercy. This is a precious promise given to fallen humanity to encourage them to trust the God of love and to seek eternal life in His kingdom.«

Self‑sacrifice and Discipleship

»Nothing less than obedience can be accepted. Self‑surrender is the core of Christ’s teachings. It is often presented and reinforced in language that appears authoritarian, because there is no other way to save people than to cut away those things that, if retained, would demoralize the whole being.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
