Adventistische Schriften über: "Relationships between people after the resurrection"

Answer

After the resurrection, people will recognize their friends and loved ones again, just as the disciples recognized the risen Jesus by his nature and his speech. Although the bodies are recreated in perfect health and immortality, the individual identity and personality are preserved, allowing a continuation of familiar relationships. While social bonds, love, and compassion are deepened in a harmonious community with angels and believers of all ages, the Scriptures also explain that there will be no marriages in the afterlife.

Recognition and Identity

The resurrection of Jesus was a model for the final resurrection of all who sleep in Him. The face of the risen Savior, his manner, his speech, everything was familiar to his disciples. Just as Jesus rose from the dead, so also those who sleep in Him will be raised. We will know our friends as the disciples knew Jesus. They may have been deformed, sick, or disfigured in this mortal life, and they will arise in perfect health and symmetry; yet in the glorified body their identity will be fully preserved. Then we will recognize, as we have been recognized. In the countenance that shines with the light emanating from the face of Jesus, we will recognize the features of those we love.

Reunion after death

The earth shook mightily as the voice of the Son of God called the sleeping saints forth. ... Those bodies that had sunk into the grave with the marks of disease and death rose out in immortal health and strength. ... Oh, what a glorious encounter! Friends whom death had separated were united, never to be separated again.

Social life and heavenly community

There the redeemed will "recognize as they have been recognized." The love and compassion that God Himself has planted in the soul will find their truest and sweetest expression there. The pure fellowship with holy beings, the harmonious social life with the blessed angels and with the faithful of all ages ... the holy bonds that bind "the whole family in heaven and on earth" – these contribute to the happiness of the redeemed.

No marriage in the afterlife

In answer to their questions, Jesus lifted the veil concerning the future life. "In the resurrection," He said, "they do not marry, nor are they married, but they are like the angels of God in heaven." He showed that the Sadducees were wrong in their belief. Their assumptions were incorrect.

Continuity of the nature

This dust that we have given to the grave ... will be revived and even after the slumber of ages will again assume the organization, the features, and the expression of the same nature with which we were familiar on earth – otherwise it would be a new creation and not a resurrection.
  • Recognition in heaven
  • Resurrection body identity
  • Marriage after the resurrection
