True Rest through Surrender and Prayer
Do not be anxious about anything; but in everything let your petitions be made known to God through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. And the peace of God, which is higher than all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
When we receive Christ as a permanent guest in the soul, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds. There is no other basis for peace than this. The grace of Christ, taken into the heart, subdues hostility; it pacifies conflict and fills the soul with love.
Those who take Christ at His word and entrust their souls to His preservation and their lives to His order will find peace and stillness. Nothing of the world can sadden them when Jesus makes them glad through His presence. In perfect harmony lies perfect rest.
