Adventistische Schriften über: "Quotes about the significance of fire in relation to God's work"
Answer
Fire is described in the Scriptures as a versatile instrument of God's work: it serves as a visible sign of His presence and guidance, such as the cloud and fire pillar during the exodus from Egypt. At the same time it acts as a purifying element of the Holy Spirit, transforming hearts, but also as a means of judgment that at the end of the world will consume all that is corrupt. Finally, the “holy fire” is used as a metaphor for a God‑given spiritual power that man should employ in his service to God.
God’s Presence and Guidance Through Fire
»And the longing for a visible manifestation of His presence was granted in the cloud and fire pillar that guided His armies, and in the revelation of His glory on Mount Sinai.«
The Fire of the Holy Spirit and Spiritual Power
»...the fire of the “Holy Spirit” seems at once to burst forth from the river valley to the ravines and peaks of the mountains on both sides. Glory to God. ... There is a holy fire that God Himself has kindled. Use this fire. You will draw more benefit from the effort of your own spirit than from thoughts borrowed from others.«
Fire as Warning and Means of Judgment
»God wishes to show man that He can kindle a fire over his idols that water cannot extinguish. The great general conflagration is imminent, when all this wasted life effort will be swept away in one night and one day.«
The Purification and Final Judgment Through Fire
»His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly clean his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn; but he will burn the chaff with an inexorable fire. ... so it will be at the end of the world; the angels will depart and separate the wicked from the righteous and cast them into the furnace of fire.«
The Spiritual Trial in the Furnace of Fire
»But there are a few who have not stained their garments and who have passed through the furnace of persecution without any smell of burning on their clothes... like the three Hebrew prisoners they emerged unharmed.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
