Ellen Gould White über: "Proclaim the Resurrection of Christ"
Answer
The proclamation of the risen Savior began immediately after the event by Mary Magdalene, who was the first to visit the empty tomb and spread the message. Later the disciples continued this mission, bravely testifying that Christ had risen from the dead despite resistance and persecution. This teaching of Christ, who died for our sins and rose again, forms the core of the gospel of salvation that all believers are to learn and teach.
Mary Magdalene as the first messenger of the resurrection
»Mary stood beside the cross and followed Him to the tomb. Mary was the first at the tomb after His resurrection. Mary was the first to proclaim a risen Savior. Jesus knows the circumstances of every soul. You may say: I am sinful, very sinful. You may be that; but the worse you are, the more you need Jesus.«
The mission commission to the disciples
»Above the broken tomb of Joseph Christ proclaimed: “I am the resurrection and the life.” Let us rejoice that we have a risen Redeemer. Shortly before He ascended into heaven… He said to His disciples: “Therefore go and teach all nations, baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: teach them to keep all that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you all days, to the end of the age.”«
Bold witness despite opposition
»After the resurrection the disciples went out to proclaim to the people that Christ had risen, but there were influences that opposed them. The Sadducees were distressed because they taught the people and, through Jesus, preached the resurrection from the dead. ... Had the disciples make a mistake when they taught that Christ had risen from the dead? No, they could not be said to be untruthful, for they conveyed the truth for that time; but the people did not like it.«
Teaching the science of salvation
»Christ, who was crucified for our sins, Christ, who rose from the dead, Christ, who ascended into heaven, is the science of salvation that we are to learn and teach.«
Witnesses of the power of the resurrection
»Now that the life‑giver came forth from the tomb and proclaimed: “I am the resurrection and the life,” He called these saints out of the tomb. While they were still alive, they had, at the risk of their lives, steadfastly borne witness to the truth. Now they should be witnesses for Him who raised them from the dead.«
