When you pray, be brief, get straight to the point. Do not preach a sermon to the Lord in your long prayers. Ask for the bread of life, as a hungry child asks his earthly father for bread. God will grant us every necessary blessing when we ask Him in simplicity and faith.
Let those who pray and those who speak pronounce their words correctly and speak in clear, distinct, even tones. ... Let the laid‑down testimonies and the offered prayers be clear and distinct. Thus God will be glorified.
