What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "Please explain the spiritual meaning of 2 Timothy 4:7–8 and quote from the writings of Ellen G. White."

Answer

In 2 Timothy 4:7–8, Paul looks back on a life in which, despite struggles, he held fast to the faith and completed his mission. Ellen G. White describes this struggle as a daily decision to put God’s will above one’s own inclinations. The crown of righteousness points to the hope Paul had in Christ and His return: it is for all who love His appearing.

Persevering in the fight of faith

»The life of the apostle Paul was a constant struggle with self. He said, “I die daily.” His will and his desires came into conflict every day with duty and the will of God. Instead of following his inclination, he did God’s will, even when this crucified his own nature. At the end of his life of struggle, as he looked back on its battles and victories, he could say, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that day.”«

Hope in Christ and His return

»Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, cleansed from sin by His blood, and clothed in His righteousness, Paul has the witness within himself that his soul is precious in the sight of his Redeemer. His life is hidden with Christ in God, and he is convinced that the One who conquered death is able to keep what has been entrusted to Him. His mind grasps the Savior’s promise: “I will raise him up at the last day.” His thoughts and hopes are fixed on the return of his Lord.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
