What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Please examine the claim shown: Ellen White was a prophetess just like the biblical prophets; an article from 1930 compares her to Samuel. What did she herself say about her prophetic calling?"
Answer
Ellen White denied calling herself a prophetess and emphasized that her work was far more than what the word “prophetess” means. She saw herself primarily as a messenger to whom the Lord had entrusted messages for His people, and said that her calling was a broad, deep, and demanding task for which she initially felt inadequate. Nevertheless, she affirmed that the Lord gave her the strength she needed through the Holy Spirit to carry out the work entrusted to her.
Ellen White on her own prophetic calling
»Why have I not claimed to be a prophetess? – Because my work is much more than what the word “prophetess” means. I have never assumed that title.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
