Ellen Gould White über: "Mediation of Prayers by Heavenly Beings"
Answer
Heavenly beings play an active role in the transmission of prayers: angels constantly ascend and descend the “mystical ladder” to bring the concerns of the needy before the Father. Jesus Christ serves as the decisive mediator, mixing the saints’ prayers with His own merit like fragrant incense, thereby securing their acceptance. While guardian angels record our sincere prayers and stand by us, Christ is the connecting link through which all communication between man and God flows.
The Role of Angels as Messengers
The heavens are brought close to the earth through that mystical ladder, whose foot is firmly on the earth, while the top rung reaches the throne of the Infinite. Angels constantly ascend and descend this ladder of shining light; they carry the prayers of the needy and afflicted to the Father above and bring blessing and hope, courage and help to the children of man.
Christ as the High Priestly Mediator
Christ declares Himself to be our intercessor. He wants us to know that He graciously commits Himself to be our representative. He places His merit into the golden incense vessel to present it with the prayers of His saints, so that the prayers of His beloved children are mixed with Christ’s fragrant merit as they ascend in the incense cloud to the Father.
Recording and Support by Companion Angels
An angel accompanies you and records your words and deeds. ... When you humbly and from the heart present your needs to your heavenly Father, angels note your prayers; and if these prayers do not come from hypocritical lips, your guardian angel will stand by you when you are in danger.
The Acceptance of Prayers by the Mediator
Pray, yes, pray with unwavering faith and trust. The Angel of the Covenant, yes our Lord Jesus Christ, is the Mediator who ensures the acceptance of the prayers of His believers.
Christ as the Connection Between God and Man
Christ is the connecting link between God and man. ... He places His merits as sweet incense into an incense vessel in our hands to encourage our petitions. He promises to hear and answer our pleas. Yes; Christ has become the medium of prayer between man and God.
