Adventistische Schriften über: "Meaning of Grass"
Answer
In Adventist writings the term “grass” has various symbolic and spiritual meanings. On the one hand it symbolizes the transience of human life and worldly glory in contrast to the eternal Word of God. In prophetic contexts grass can also refer to those who bear the seal of God and are faithful worshippers, while in nature it serves as a testimony to God's loving care and His constant presence in creation.
The Transience of Man
All earthly children are like grass and all their glory like the flower of the grass. The grass withers and its flower falls away; but the word of the Lord endures forever.
Grass as a Symbol for the Sealed
Grass, green things and trees are here contrasted with those people who do not have the seal of God... If that is the case, they must mean those who have the seal of God – His worshippers... Thus they were commanded not to harm the grass, the green things, and the trees – the Christians.
A Testimony of Divine Care
God's love is written upon every budding blossom and upon every blade of sprouting grass. The lovely birds... the magnificent trees of the forest... all bear witness to the tender, paternal care of our God and to His desire to make His children happy.
Lessons of Trust
If God now clothes the grass in the field, which stands today and is thrown into the furnace tomorrow, should He not do much more for you, you little believers?"... Our Savior wants not only that we recognize God's love in the beautiful flowers, but that we learn from them lessons of simplicity and perfect faith.
Service to Creation
There is no leaf in the forest or a low blade of grass that does not perform its service. Every tree, every shrub, and every leaf radiates that element of life without which neither man nor animal could live.
