Adventistische Schriften über: "Jerusalem Will Not Be Rebuilt"

Answer

Contrary to the assumption that Jerusalem would not be rebuilt, the writings of Ellen G. White clearly show that God Himself commanded and supported its reconstruction. Although there were times of ruin and opposition, the work was advanced through men such as Nehemiah and the prophets Zechariah and Haggai. God promised to be a “wall of fire” around the city and to restore His house and its walls. Historically, the city was indeed rebuilt after the Babylonian exile, fulfilling God’s promises. Ultimately, the restoration of Jerusalem serves as a sign of God’s faithfulness to His people.

God’s Promise and the Rebuilding of Jerusalem

»“God had commanded that Jerusalem be rebuilt; the vision of the measuring of the city was an assurance that He would comfort and strengthen His afflicted people and fulfill to them the promises of His everlasting covenant. His protecting care, He declared, would be like ‘a wall of fire round about.’”«

»“Therefore thus saith the Lord; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, ... and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.”«

»“He [Nehemiah] resolved that he would himself undertake the task of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem and restoring Israel’s national strength, if he could obtain the king’s approval and the necessary help in procuring tools and materials.”«

»“It was the time of the Feast of Trumpets. Many were assembled at Jerusalem. The scene was one of sad interest. The wall of Jerusalem had been rebuilt and the gates set up, but a large part of the city was still in ruins.”«

»“Zechariah then saw the powers that had ‘scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem,’ symbolized by four horns. Immediately afterward he saw four craftsmen, representing the instruments that the Lord used to restore His people and His house of worship.”«

»“Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.”«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
