What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Is there a quote in “Consejos sobre Mayordomía” that states that the system of systematic charity is the plan created by God to restore the character of Christ in us?"
Answer
Yes, Ellen G. White emphasizes in her writings that God planned the system of charity so that man may become similar to his Creator in character—kind and self‑less. Through the continual practice of goodwill and neighborly love, the divine image in fallen humanity is to be restored and selfishness countered.
God's Plan for Character Formation According to His Image
»God planned the system of charity so that man might become like his Creator, kind and self‑less in character, and ultimately become a partaker with Christ of the eternal, glorious reward.«
Restoration of the Divine Image through Charity
»And as we heed these calls through work and acts of charity, we become similar to the image of Him who became poor through our will. [...] It is the glory of the gospel that it is founded on the principle of restoring the divine image in fallen humanity through a continual manifestation of charity.«
The Divine Origin of Systematic Charity
»Systematic charity may appear to you as unnecessary; you overlook the fact that it originates from God, whose wisdom is infallible. He instituted this plan to avoid confusion and to correct greed, avarice, selfishness, and idolatry.«
God's Remedy against Selfishness and Greed
»Continuous, self‑denying charity is God's remedy for the destructive sins of selfishness and greed. God established systematic charity to support His work and to alleviate the needs of the suffering and needy. He determined that giving should become a habit, so that it counters the dangerous and deceptive sin of greed.«
