What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "Is there a point at which judgment occurs or God's presence is no longer possible when a person persistently rejects grace?"

Answer

Yes, according to the scriptures a point is reached at which God's grace and protective presence are withdrawn when a person persistently rejects light and warnings. When the limits of divine patience are exceeded, God withdraws His restraining spirit and leaves the sinner to himself as well as to the unhindered influence of Satan. This ultimately leads to a condition where the heart is so hardened that repentance is no longer possible and judgment inevitably follows.

The Withdrawal of Divine Restraint

»God does not stand before the sinner as the executor of judgment against the transgression; rather, He leaves those who reject His mercy to themselves, so that they reap what they have sown. Every rejected ray of light, every despised or ignored warning [...] is a sown seed that brings forth its infallible harvest. The spirit of God, which is persistently resisted, is eventually withdrawn from the sinner, and then there is no power left to control the evil passions of the soul, nor any protection from the wickedness and hostility of Satan. [...] When people exceed the limits of divine forbearance, this restraint is removed.«

The Consequences of Separation from God

»God's withdrawing leads to hardness of heart and blindness of the mind, and the perception of the true condition diminishes more and more, until God's grace is finally withdrawn, as was the case with the Jewish people.«

The Inability to Repent Through Persistence in Evil

»Many soothe a troubled conscience with the thought that they can change an evil path whenever they wish; that they can play with the invitations of grace and still be impressed repeatedly. [...] But it is not so easily done. The experience, the upbringing of a lifetime has shaped the character so thoroughly that only few still have the desire to receive the image of Jesus.«

The End of the Grace Period

»The great mass will continue to persist in testing Him [God] and grieving His Holy Spirit; and they will continue thus until the door of grace is closed and their fate sealed. Then, and only then, when it is too late, will they see their folly.«

The Final Judgment

»When our High Priest comes out of the sanctuary, he will proclaim: “Whoever does wrong, let him continue to do wrong; whoever is dirty, let him continue to be dirty; whoever is righteous, let him continue in righteousness; and whoever is holy, let him continue to be sanctified.” Every case is decided for eternity. The grace period is forever ended.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
