What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Is the 'faith of Jesus' to be understood as subjective (his own faith) or objective (faith in him)?"
Answer
In Adventist writings, the “faith of Jesus” is described both objectively and subjectively: it includes, on the one hand, the saving faith in Christ’s representative sacrifice, and, on the other hand, the appropriation of his own perfect obedience and trust toward the Word of God. While the objective aspect emphasizes that Christ bears our sins, the subjective aspect describes the faith of Jesus as a trust that accepts God’s Word as absolutely true and becomes effective in daily life as well as in keeping the commandments.
The Meaning of Jesus' Faith
»The essence of Jesus' faith, which belongs to the message of the third angel, is that Jesus became our sin‑bearer so that he could become our sin‑forgiving Savior. He was treated as we deserved. He came into our world and took on our sins so that we could receive his righteousness. And the faith in Christ’s ability to save us abundantly, completely, and wholly is the faith of Jesus.«
Faith as Trust in God’s Word
»That is, the faith of Jesus is that faith which believes that God’s Word does what it says. It simply lets God’s Word be true. ... The faith of Jesus is the faith that believes God’s Word is true, that allows God’s Word to work in us with its power, and that fully submits to this work.«
Connection of Obedience and Faith
»For this there is the obedience of the entire life of Jesus Christ on earth as a man for man. ... Therefore the observance of the seventh‑day Sabbath is entirely out of faith. And his righteousness is wholly the righteousness of God: “namely the righteousness of God that comes through the faith of Jesus Christ,” through whose obedience and faith alone a soul can ever be made righteous. And thus here are those who keep God’s commandments and the faith of Jesus.«
Personal and Saving Faith
»It is not enough to believe in Christ; we must believe in Him. The only faith that benefits us is the one that accepts Him as a personal Savior and claims His merits. Many regard faith as an opinion. Saving faith is a transaction through which those who receive Christ enter into a covenant relationship with God. True faith is life.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
