Adventistische Schriften über: "Is Jesus God and man?"

Answer

Jesus Christ is both true God and true man. He laid aside his royal robe and clothed his divinity in humanity, so that after becoming human he was as truly man as he had previously been God. In Him the divine and human natures were united to reconcile fallen humanity with God and to grant us a share in the divine nature.

The Union of Divinity and Humanity

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” ... No words could show more clearly that Christ was both God and man. Originally only divine, He took on the human nature and lived among people as an ordinary mortal, except at those times when His divinity shone through.
Christ was God. He became man. And when He became man, He was as truly man as He was God.
In Christ the human and the divine were united. His mission was to reconcile God and humanity, to unite the finite with the infinite. ... The assumption of human nature enabled Christ to understand the trials and concerns of man as well as all temptations that press upon him.
We acknowledge our Lord Jesus Christ as a perfect God and a perfect man ... for a union of the two natures has taken place; therefore we acknowledge one Christ, one Lord.
The union of the divine with the human nature is one of the most precious and mysterious truths of the plan of salvation. ... “Undoubtedly, great is the mystery of godliness: God is revealed in the flesh.”
He clothed His divinity with humanity so that humanity, through His infinite sacrifice, could become partakers of the divine nature and escape the corruption that is in the world through desire.
  • Christ's divinity and humanity
  • Incarnation of two natures
