What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "Is it wrong to love this earthly life?"

Answer

These passages do not condemn earthly life itself; they warn against valuing it above faithfulness to Christ or allowing earthly concerns to take the place of love for God. The counsel is to love God supremely and be willing to surrender even the present life rather than abandon that loyalty.

Loving the Present Life

»“He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world, shall keep it unto life eternal.” The soul, life or being, of the faithful who are not ashamed of Christ in this sinful and adulterous generation, those who will even lose the present life, if necessary, in order to their faithfulness, is hid with Christ in God.«

Keeping God First

»We have infinitely greater reason to love God than to love our earthly friends; it should be the most natural thing in the world to make Him first in all our thoughts. The rich gifts He has bestowed upon us were not intended to absorb our thoughts and love so much that we should have nothing to give to God; they are constantly to remind us of Him and to bind us in bonds of love and gratitude to our heavenly Benefactor.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
