What does EGW write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Is it true that praying for an unbelieving person accomplishes nothing?"
Answer
It is not true that prayers for unbelievers are ineffective; rather, prayer is a God‑ordained means to success that moves the arm of Almighty Power. Every sincere prayer offered in faith will receive an answer, even if it does not always come immediately or in the way expected. When we consistently pray for others, God gives His Holy Spirit to convict and convert souls.
The Power of Prayer for Unbelievers
To every earnest prayer offered in faith for anything, an answer will be given. It may not come exactly as we expected; but it will come, perhaps not as we imagined, but precisely at the time we need it most. But oh, how sinful is our unbelief!
Divine Assistance in Conversion
Ask for prayers for the souls you are working for; present them to the congregation as the object of their intercession... As you do this, God will give you the Holy Spirit to convict and convert the soul.
Prayer Moves Heaven
Prayer is a heaven‑ordained means to success. Appeals, petitions, and requests among people move people... But prayer moves heaven. Only that power that comes as an answer to prayer will make people wise in the wisdom of heaven.
Christ’s Intercession Against Unbelief
He intercedes to the Father for strength to overcome their unbelief, to break the bonds with which Satan has enslaved them, and in their name to defeat the destroyer.
Satanic Deception About Prayer
The notion that prayer is not essential is one of Satan’s most successful lists for ruining souls. Prayer is the aligning of the mind with God... and earnest pleading for God’s blessing, both for ourselves and for others.
