Adventistische Schriften über: "Is it a sin to eat nutrient‑poor yet healthy foods while hoping to stay healthy?"
Answer
It is a mistake to believe that God preserves health through a miracle when one neglects the physical laws by means of a deficient diet. A way of eating that does not provide the body with enough nutrients is called a “health deform” rather than health reform and can worsen the blood as well as promote disease. It is considered a religious duty to provide the body with nourishing and tasty foods, since an unnecessary transgression of the laws of life ultimately constitutes a violation of God’s law.
Dangers of a deficient diet
Some have limited themselves to a diet that cannot keep them healthy. They have not provided nourishing foods to replace the harmful items... It contradicts health reform to, after abstaining from a variety of unhealthy dishes, go to the opposite extreme and lower the quantity and quality of food to a low standard. Instead of health reform, this is health deform.
God will not work a miracle to preserve those from disease who do not take care of themselves but constantly violate the laws of health... God will not supernaturally preserve the health of persons who take a safe path to make themselves ill by giving careless neglect to the health laws.
No one should adopt a nutrient‑poor diet. Many are weakened by illness and need nourishing, well‑cooked foods. Health reformers should, above all, be careful to avoid extremes. The body must receive sufficient food.
What we eat cannot be transformed into good blood unless it is of appropriate quality, simple, and nourishing... Unnecessary transgression of the laws of our nature is a violation of God’s law.
A diet lacking the proper nutrients brings shame upon the cause of health reform. We are mortal and must provide ourselves with foods that give the body the right nourishment.
Inferior food cannot be transformed into good blood. A nutrient‑poor diet will cause the blood to become impoverished.
