»When Asa, the king of Judah, hired Ben-Hadad to attack Israel in order to distract Baesa from building Rama, the prophet Hanani came to him and said: “Because you relied on the king of Syria and not on the Lord your God, the army of the king of Syria escaped your hand. Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubites a great army with many chariots and riders? Yet because you trusted in the Lord, He gave them into your hand. For the eyes of the Lord sweep over the whole earth to prove Himself strong among those whose heart is wholly devoted to Him. In this you acted foolishly; therefore you will have wars from now on.” Asa had forgotten the Lord and relied on the king of Syria. He went further and even rejected the word of the Lord. He became angry with the prophet and threw him into prison.«
