Adventistische Schriften über: "Intercession: God's Liberation Dependent on Prayer"

Answer

God's deliverance for His people is closely linked to prayer, because the oppressed people will unite in calling upon God day and night for salvation. God often uses extreme distress, where there is no human hope left, to reveal His power in response to the pleas of His children.

Furthermore, the intercession of Jesus in the heavenly sanctuary is the basis for our prayers to become effective, as He mixes His merit with the petitions of believers. Prayer is the God‑ordained means to achieve victory in spiritual conflicts and to avert or postpone impending disaster.

A United Cry for Liberation

\n

»The oppressed people of God will yet send a united day‑and‑night cry for deliverance to heaven. ... And in response to this prayer the remnant who keep God's commandments and have the testimony of Jesus will find deliverance.«

\n\n

Prayer as a Means Against Impending Danger

\n

»Is it not possible that God now, in response to His people's prayers, restrains the work of those who nullify His law? Should we not humble our hearts, flee to the throne of grace, and implore Him to reveal His mighty power? If our people remain in the indifferent posture they are in, God cannot pour out His Spirit upon them.«

Christ's Intercession Makes Prayers Effective

\n

»Christ proclaims Himself as our intercessor. ... He places His merit into the golden incense bowl to present it with the prayers of His saints, so that the prayers of His beloved children are mixed with the fragrant merit of Christ as they rise in the cloud of incense to the Father. The Father hears every prayer of His contrite children.«

God's Opportunity in Man's Distress

\n

»He has always chosen extreme situations when there seemed to be no possible chance for deliverance from Satan's work, in order to manifest His power. Man's distress is God's opportunity. It may be that a brief pause is granted so that God's people awaken and let His light shine.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
