What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "If I were to ask God for the gift of miracles, what would God say?"

Answer

God is ready to give His gifts to those who ask Him in faith, distributing the gifts of the Spirit in the church as He pleases. Answers to prayer, which can even include the extraordinary or miraculous, are possible, provided they align with His will and serve the benefit of believers. However, instead of merely striving for a particular gift, we are encouraged to devote ourselves wholly to God and, above all, to seek love and the Holy Spirit.

The Distribution of Gifts According to God's Favor

»God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body as He pleased. ... And God has appointed some in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miraculous powers, then gifts of healing, helpers, leaders, various languages. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Can all interpret? Yet strive eagerly for the best gifts.«

Conditions for the Answering of Requests

»He makes clear that our petitions must correspond to God's will; we must ask for the things He has promised, and whatever we receive must be used to do His will. When the conditions are met, the promise is clear. ... For every gift that He has promised, we may ask; then we should believe that we will receive it, and thank God.«

God's Willingness to Do the Extraordinary

»We must approach God in prayer and fully expect that we—if we ask for things that we are authorized to request by His Word, and if we ask earnestly, persistently, and patiently—will certainly receive what we petition for ... even if the granting of our requests implies that God does something truly extraordinary, for He has at all times, on certain occasions, truly performed wonderful deeds in response to the prayers of His faithful people.«

Trust in the Goodness of the Heavenly Father

»Jesus illustrates God's willingness to bless through a father's readiness to grant his child's request. He says, "If a son asks one of you who is a father for bread, will he give him a stone? ... If you, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
