What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "I feel worthless because of the church, because I am young, unmarried, a virgin, disabled, and unemployed. I did not leave the church because of my faith. I have occasionally drunk wine under stress, but I do not want to drink; I repented today and feel better on the Sabbath. Please encourage me."
Answer
Your worth before God does not rest on your worldly status, your ability to work, or human standards, but on the fact that you are dearly redeemed and infinitely loved through the blood of Jesus Christ. If you repent of your mistakes and turn to God, He forgives you completely and extends His hand to lift you up. Do not let discouragement or the deceptive feeling of unworthiness trap you, but look trustingly to Jesus, who gives you new strength and hope.
God's Saving Hand and Forgiveness in Missteps
»To fight successfully against sin, you must stay close to Jesus. Do not speak of unbelief; you have no excuse for it ... Let everyone say: “I am saddened that I give in to temptation, that my prayers are weak, my faith so small. I have no excuse to offer that I have become stagnant in my spiritual life. Yet I strive to attain character perfection in Christ. I have sinned, and yet I love Jesus. I have fallen many times, and still He has stretched out His hand to save me. I have told Him all my faults. I have confessed, full of shame and sorrow, that I have dishonored Him. I have looked upon the cross and said: All this He suffered for me. [...] He, who knows no sin, has forgiven my sin. He calls me to a higher, nobler life, and I reach out toward what lies before me.”«
God's Great Love and a New Beginning
»You can experience a new conversion and thereby rise and triumph. [...] God loves you far more than we can, because you are redeemed by the blood of Christ. You must not for a single moment feel that we withdraw our compassion from you. No, no, no. [...] We want you to overcome every false feeling, every twisted, destructive habit, and offer yourself to God as a living sacrifice ... Let sadness fade and unbelief be driven back. Look upon the rock that is higher than you. If you only look at your poor, imperfect, sinful self, you lose sight of the precious Redeemer.«
God's Mercy and Promise in True Repentance
»“Turn to me with your whole heart, with fasting, with weeping and lament! Tear your hearts, not your garments, and turn to the Lord, your God! For He is gracious, merciful, patient, and of great goodness, and He is sorry for the disaster.” [...] After Israel's apostasy and bitter retribution, God's gracious message to the repentant people was: “Therefore, see, I will lure them and lead them into the desert and speak to their hearts. And I will give them their vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor as a door of hope.”«
The Unfounded Feeling of Unworthiness
»But in my heart there was the feeling that I could never become worthy to be called a child of God. A lack of self‑confidence and the conviction that it was impossible to make anyone understand my feelings prevented me from seeking counsel and help from my Christian friends. Thus I unnecessarily wandered in darkness and despair, while they, not seeing through my reticence, were completely unaware of my true condition.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
