What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "I am still worried that Jesus has not forgiven me."

Answer

God invites every person to come to Him with all their weaknesses and faults, because He is faithful and forgives every repentant sin. When we have confessed our sins, we may trust that He keeps His word, rather than doubting His forgiveness. It is also our duty to firmly believe His promise word, just as it is our duty to confess our guilt to Him.

Faith in personal forgiveness

»Here thousands fail; they do not believe that Jesus forgives them personally and individually. They do not take God at His word. It is the privilege of all who meet the conditions to know for themselves that forgiveness is freely granted for every sin. Lay aside the distrust that God's promises are not intended for you. They apply to every repentant transgressor. ... No one is so sinful that he could not find strength, purity, and righteousness in Jesus, who died for him.«

The duty to trust the promise

»We wound Christ's heart by doubting, when He has given such proof of His love. He gave His life to save us. ... Confess your sins before Christ and, with true repentance of the soul, work together with Him by laying down these sins. Believe that they are forgiven. The promise is certain: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Be assured that God's word will not fail. He who has promised is faithful. It is also your duty to believe that God will fulfill His word and forgive you, just as it is your duty to confess your sins.«

Trust regardless of one's own feelings

»When one looks at his sinful condition and speaks of his misery and mourns, the distress only grows and the pain accumulates. The sinner places himself in the power of Jesus ... and believes that the Lord has spoken the truth, and trusts Him, no matter how the heart's feelings may be. ... It is your privilege to believe that Christ has borne your sins; for the Lord cast all our guilt upon Him. ... If you had to bear the guilt of your sin, it would crush you; but the sinless One has taken your place, and although you do not deserve it, He has borne your guilt.«

Lay the burden of sins on Christ

»Take God's word in trust and say: He loves me; He gave His life for me; and He will save me. ... Look away from yourself to Jesus. Grasp Him as your Redeemer. Stop lamenting your helpless condition. ... Today the Lord says to you: Do not be discouraged, but cast your burdens upon Me. You cannot carry your own sins. I will take them all. ... Never has a soul that trusts in Jesus been left to ruin.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
