What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "I am not the most forgiving person, and that makes me feel spiritually dirty; in my heart I am a very angry, hurt, and resentful person. God knows this and He knows that it leads me to self‑destruction because I hate myself."
Answer
God sees your inner pain, your bitterness, and how difficult it is for you to be patient and forgiving, and He meets you with compassion and willingness to help. Even if you feel unclean, helpless, and full of anger, God offers you forgiveness, peace, and a new heart as a free gift, if you submit your will to Him. Holding on to grudges and old wounds harms especially your own soul, but through His grace even the most bitter spirit can be healed and renewed.
God sees the need to forgive, and grants His grace
»God sees how hard it is for you to be patient and forgiving, and He knows to have compassion and to help. He demands from you to reform your life and correct your shortcomings. He wishes that your firm, unbending spirit be subdued by His grace. You should seek God's help, for you need peace and calm instead of storm and strife.«
Deliverance from impurity and the gift of a new heart
»The more you strive to escape, the more you recognize your helplessness. Your motives are impure; your heart is unclean. You see that your life was full of selfishness and sin. You long to be forgiven, cleansed, and set free. ... It is peace that you need – heaven's forgiveness and peace and love in the soul. Money cannot buy it, the mind cannot obtain it, wisdom cannot acquire it; you can never hope to secure it through your own efforts. Yet God offers it to you as a gift, “without money and for free”. ... The Lord says: “Even if your sins are as red as blood, they shall become as white as snow ... I also will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within your innermost being.”«
The destructive effect of an unforgiving spirit
»I saw that his greatest transgression in the past had been an unforgiving spirit toward those brothers who had damaged his influence in God's work and had inflicted upon him extreme spiritual suffering through their false behavior. ... Yet although the injustice was healed before God, he sometimes groped at this wound in his thoughts and let it fester by looking back on the past, making himself unhappy. ... He harbored dissatisfied feelings that could only make his own heart very unhappy and render it unsuitable for God's peace to dwell within it.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
