What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "How would Ellen G. White formulate a prayer on John 12:32 in the Adventist understanding?"

Answer

In the writings of Ellen G. White, John 12:32 ("And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself") is understood as the work of Christ, who through His sacrifice on the cross of Golgotha softens the sinner’s heart and leads to genuine repentance. A prayer in this understanding would be marked by deep wonder at God’s incomprehensible love, contrition over one’s own sinfulness, and the request for total surrender to His drawing grace. The one praying looks faithfully upon the representative suffering of Jesus and recognizes in the Redeemer the sole source of true conversion.

The drawing power of the exalted Healer and the proclamation of His love

»Jesus said: "And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself." Christ must be revealed to the sinner as the Redeemer who dies for the sins of the world; and as we behold the Lamb of God on the cross of Golgotha, the mystery of salvation begins to unfold to our spirit, and the goodness of God leads us to repentance. When Christ dies for sinners, He reveals a love that is incomprehensible; and when the sinner perceives this love, it softens the heart, impresses the spirit, and awakens repentance in the soul... And while Christ draws them to look upon His cross and to look at Him, whose sins have pierced Him, the command penetrates the conscience... They begin to grasp something of Christ’s righteousness and cry out: "What is sin that it should require such a sacrifice for the redemption of its victim? Was all this love, all this suffering, all this humiliation necessary so that we would not be lost, but have eternal life?«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
