What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "How can the Bible be fully the Word of God when people with different personalities, educational backgrounds, and language skills were involved in writing it?"
Answer
The Bible is fully the Word of God because it was written through divine inspiration, and the Holy Spirit guided the hearts and thoughts of the human authors. Although the writers had different personalities, educational backgrounds, and linguistic abilities, the guidance of the Spirit enabled a unique combination of divine truth and human expression, similar to the incarnate humanity of Christ. Thus, the diversity of styles and perspectives within Scripture forms a harmonious, coherent overall text that proves to be divine and reliable.
The Bible as a divine-human connection despite human diversity
»The Bible refers to God as its origin; yet it was written by human hands; and in the different styles of its individual books, it shows the characteristics of the various authors. The revealed truths are all "given by the Spirit of God" (); yet they are expressed in human words. The Infinite, through his Holy Spirit, shed light into the thoughts and hearts of his servants. He gave dreams and visions, symbols and parables; and those to whom the truth was thus revealed embodied the thought in human language. The Ten Commandments were spoken by God himself and written by his own hand. They are of divine and not of human composition. But the Bible, with its divine truths expressed in human language, shows a unity of divine and human. Such a unity existed in the nature of Christ, who was the Son of God and the Son of Man. So it is true of the Bible as it was of Christ: "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us." The books of the Bible were written in different ages by men who differed widely in rank and profession, as well as in spiritual and intellectual gifts, and show great differences in style and in the subjects treated. Different forms of expression are used by different authors; often the same truth is presented more impressively by one than by another. And since several authors treat a subject from different aspects and relationships, apparent discrepancies or contradictions may meet the superficial, careless, or prejudiced reader; but the thoughtful, reverent student with clear discernment recognizes the underlying harmony.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
