Adventistische Schriften über: "How can I delight in divine truths that are wrapped in mysteries?"
Answer
To find joy in the divine mysteries, you should study the Bible with a teachable and prayer‑filled spirit and a humble heart, aware of your dependence on God. Through the illumination of the Holy Spirit, seemingly difficult or dark truths become clear and simple, leading to deep reverence and renewed interest. True joy arises from the realization that these mysteries are best revealed in a Christ‑like character and through the work of the \"sunshine of righteousness\".
Divine Illumination for the Sincere Seeker
We will only progress in true spiritual insight when we recognize our own smallness and our complete dependence on God; but all who approach the Bible with a teachable and prayer‑filled spirit, studying its statements as the Word of God, will receive divine illumination. There are many things that seem difficult or dark, which God will make clear and simple to those who seek to understand them.
Joy Through Revelation in Christ
When the teachings of Christ, the truths of the Bible in their simplicity, are presented before these souls, they recognize the light and rejoice. Their confusions disappear before the light of truth like dew before the morning sun. Their conceptions of biblical truth expand, and God's revelation in Christ comes to them, showing the depth, breadth, and height of the divine, spiritual mystery they had not previously perceived, a mystery that cannot be explained but can only be exemplified in a Christ‑like character.
Discovering the Depth of Hidden Treasures
In the Holy Scriptures, thousands of gems of truth are hidden for the superficial seeker. The mine of truth never runs dry. The more you explore the Scriptures with a humble heart, the greater your interest will be, and the more you will be inclined to join Paul in exclaiming: “O the depth of the riches, both of wisdom and knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are His judgments and how unsearchable His ways!”
Mysteries Arouse Reverence and Faith
Yet the most simply presented truths touch upon topics that are lofty, far‑reaching, and infinitely beyond human comprehension—mysteries that are the hidden aspects of His glory, mysteries that overwhelm the mind in its study while filling the sincere seeker of truth with reverence and faith. The more we search the Bible, the deeper our conviction becomes that it is the Word of the living God, and human reason bows before the majesty of divine revelation.
The Work of the Holy Spirit
There is only one way this knowledge can be obtained. We can only gain an understanding of God's Word through the illumination of the Spirit by which the Word was given. “No one knows what is in God except the Spirit of God”; “for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.”
