The health reform is inseparably linked to the prophetic message of the three angels and is often described as the “right arm” that serves the body. However, it is not more important than the prophetic message itself, but is meant to support it and pave the way for it.
The writings emphasize that the health reform must never take the place of the actual message or be proclaimed independently of it. A one-sided emphasis on health at the expense of biblical truth would disturb the necessary balance of God's work.

»Health reform stands in an equally close relationship to the third angelic message as the arm does to the body; but the arm cannot take the place of the body. The proclamation of the third angelic message, the commandments of God, and the testimony of Jesus is the main burden of our work. The message is to be proclaimed with a loud call and should go out to the whole world. The presentation of health principles must be connected with this message, but in no case may it be independent of it or in any way take its place.«
