Ellen Gould White über: "God can do more than we ask"
Answer
God is ready to work on us far beyond our requests and ideas, provided we trust Him in faith. He does not always give us exactly what we desire, but He always gives us what is best for our highest good. By His power He can accomplish in a short time more than we could achieve in an entire lifetime, especially when we devote ourselves completely to Him.
God's willingness to exceed our requests
»He is able to help us, and ready to do more for us than we ask or think. He possesses the fullness of heaven to satisfy our needs. ... We should first seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. We should be ready to receive the blessing that God gives to those who seek Him with all their heart, in sincerity and truth.«
God's wisdom in answering prayers
»God is too wise and good to answer our prayers exactly at the time and in the way we wish. He will do more and better for us than fulfill all our wishes. And because we can trust His wisdom and love, we should not ask Him to bend to our will, but strive to enter into His purpose and fulfill it.«
The transforming power of Christ in life
»When Christ is kept in the heart, His likeness is revealed in life. ... Our Savior is able and ready to do more for us than we ask or even think. God can shape the nature – whatever your disposition may be, God is able to shape this nature so that it becomes lovely and Christlike.«
God's work in a short time
»The Lord can do in an hour more than we can do in an entire life; and when He sees that His people are fully sanctified, let me tell you, a great work will be done in a short time, and the message of truth will be carried to the dark places of the earth.«
The promise of divine power for the church
»God calls us to go out and speak the words He gives us, while we feel His holy touch on our lips. Him now, who can do far beyond everything we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. The Lord is waiting to reveal His grace and power through His people.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
