Adventistische Schriften über: "For whom should we pray?"
Answer
We should have a broad heart in our prayers and intercede both for the community of believers and for the whole world. According to the writings of Ellen G. White, this includes church leaders, missionaries, our own congregation, as well as suffering and helpless people in poverty or sin. Especially important is prayer for our own children, for widows and orphans, and for those who are trapped in error and spiritual blindness. Ultimately, we should pray that the word of God spreads and all peoples may experience the saving grace of Christ.
Prayer for Workers, the Suffering, and the Church
Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free rein and be glorified, just as it is among you.
You, who have long lost the spirit of prayer, pray, pray earnestly: “Have mercy on your suffering cause, have mercy on the church, have mercy on each believer, you Father of Mercy. Take from us everything that defiles us. Withhold from us what you will, but do not take your Holy Spirit from us.”
The prayer from my burdened heart is daily: May God save my children, my poor, deceived, blinded children, who are poor, wretched, blind and naked, and think they need nothing.
Near and far there are souls, not only youths but people of all ages, who are in poverty and need, sunk in sin and burdened with a sense of guilt. It is the task of God's servants to seek out these souls, to pray with them and for them, and to lead them step by step to the Savior.
Let us pray for the success of the Lord's missionaries' efforts. Let us ask the Lord to open a door for the word, so that we may proclaim the mysteries of Christ.
They [mission sisters] can pray with and for the helpless, who lack the willpower to control those desires that have been humbled by passion. They can bring a ray of hope into the lives of the defeated and discouraged.
- Prayer for missionaries
