Ellen Gould White
What does Ellen White write about...
Ellen Gould White über: "Floor"
Answer
In the available writings Ellen White describes various buildings and their layout in floors. She mentions, among others, a large building called “The Castle” with three floors and twelve rooms per floor, as well as a publishing building with four floors above the basement. These floors provided space for schools, housing, sanitary facilities, and health care institutions.
Description of “The Castle” and its floors
»We discovered that the Castle contained three floors with twelve spacious rooms on each floor, in addition to a basement and a large dome above the third floor that was suitable to be converted into good rooms. I went up the stairs to the second floor and partially inspected the rooms on the first two floors. That was as far as I could go; but the brothers who had previously visited the property reported that they had examined the rooms on the next floor and found them to be just as well furnished and arranged as those I had seen. Each floor was equipped with excellent sanitary facilities.«
Floors of the publishing building
»The new publishing building was a large, solid structure, 46 by 76 feet, with four floors above the basement. The upper floors were constructed so that, until needed by the growth of the business, they could be used as residential apartments for families.«
Rooms on different floors in a sanatorium
»The room I occupy is one of the best on this floor. The room that Sister Gotzian occupies is located above mine, on the third floor, of the same size and with the same comfort.«
