Adventistische Schriften über: "Esther, Ahasuerus, Ellen‑White‑Writings – Lessons from the Esther story"

Answer

The story of Esther teaches that God works even in times of greatest crisis and has prepared people for special tasks. Esther and Mordecai realized that human efforts are futile without divine assistance, therefore they sought communion with God through fasting and prayer. Their courage shows that faith remains steadfast even in the face of death and that God is ready to save His repentant people in wonderful ways.

Trusting God in the Crisis

»The crisis that Esther faced required swift, serious action; but both she and Mordecai realized that their own efforts would be in vain if God did not act powerfully for them. Thus Esther took time for communion with God, the source of her strength. “Go,” she instructed Mordecai, “gather all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me, that you do not eat or drink for three days, neither day nor night; also I and my maidens will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, although it is not according to the law; if I die, I die.”«

Parallels to the End Times

»The decree that will be issued against God’s people will be very similar to the one Ahasuerus issued against the Jews at the time of Esther. The Persian decree stemmed from Haman’s hatred toward Mordecai. Not that Mordecai had done him wrong, but he refused to give him the worship that belongs to God alone. ... Now, as in the days of Mordecai, the Lord will vindicate His truth and His people.«

The Scepter of Grace

»He advised these persons to surrender themselves to God and to rely without delay on His mercy. They would find a gracious Savior who is ready to extend to them the scepter of mercy, just as Ahasuerus offered Esther the sign of His favor. All that was required of the sinner, trembling in the presence of his Lord, was to stretch out the hand of faith and touch the scepter of His grace. The touch secured forgiveness and peace.«

Vashti’s Action According to Conscience

»We read with joy about the feast of Queen Vashti. ... She acted in accordance with a pure conscience. Vashti refused to obey the king’s command, hoping that he would praise her action when he returned to himself. But the king had unwise counselors. They argued that it would give a woman power that would be to her detriment.«

God’s Providence

»In God’s providence, Esther, a Jewish woman who feared the Most High, was made queen of the Medo-Persian empire. ... “Who knows,” said Mordecai, “whether you have not come to the throne precisely for a time like this?” ... God worked wonderfully for His repentant people; and a decree issued by the king that allowed them to fight for their lives was quickly transmitted by mounted couriers to all parts of the empire.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
