Adventistische Schriften über: "Ellen White: Wholehearted dedication and undivided heart"
Answer
Ellen White emphasized the need to cleanse the heart of envy, jealousy and useless “debris” in order to enter into a close relationship with God. A genuine wholehearted dedication requires a sincere conversion, through which a person is enabled to carry out God’s work with faithfulness. She herself lived this service with the determination to fulfill her tasks despite criticism, in humility and under the constant testing by God.
Cleansing of the Heart and Connection with God
Nine weeks before the start of the conference, Ellen White pleaded with her brothers to remember their Christianity at the upcoming gathering. To the “brothers who will assemble for the General Conference,” she wrote: “May every soul now be freed from envy, jealousy and evil suspicions and bring its heart into a close relationship with God. If all do this, love will burn on the altar of their hearts, which Christ has proven for them.”
In one of the evening meetings Ellen White received a vision in which she slowly and solemnly repeated the words: “Turn to me, and I will turn to you. I will heal your apostasy and love you willingly. Tear the debris from the door of your hearts and open the door, and I will enter and share the communion with you, and you with me.”
The Importance of Genuine Conversion
Two years earlier Ellen White, in a letter of strict admonition... tenderly poured out her heart with these words: “Your Aunt Ellen loves your soul too much to sugar‑coat your present condition. God has a task for you, and you can fulfill it if you are truly and genuinely converted.”
Faithfulness in Service Despite Opposition
Whatever false interpretation may be placed into my testimony by those who claim righteousness yet do not know God, I will move forward in humility with my work. I will speak the words that God gives me… The work my Father has given me I will carry out with faithfulness through His grace, fully aware that all my deeds must pass Jehovah’s test.
- Heart purification and conversion
- Dedication to God's work
- Strengthening connection with Christ
