Adventistische Schriften über: "Ellen White's View on Surgical Procedures"

Ellen White regarded surgical procedures as an extremely responsible and delicate task that can decide life and death. She emphasized that surgeons must be God-fearing people who are aware of their complete dependence on God and who pray for assistance and peace before major operations. Only through the strength and inner calm granted by God are physicians enabled to successfully perform such critical procedures.

Godliness and Prayer in Surgical Operations

»The truly most successful surgeon is the one who loves God, who sees God in His creation and worships Him while tracing His wise order in the human organism. [...] Those who serve the sick and perform delicate, serious operations should consider that a single slip of the knife, a single nervous tremor, can send a soul into eternity. They should not be allowed to take on so many responsibilities that they have no time for special periods of prayer. Through earnest prayer they should acknowledge their dependence on God. Only through an awareness of God's pure truth, which works in mind and heart, and only through the peace and strength that He alone can give, are they enabled to carry out those critical operations that mean life or death for the suffering.«
