Adventistische Schriften über: "Elisa's Miracle with the Axe Head"
Answer
Elisa actively assisted the prophet students in expanding their dwelling place on the Jordan. When one of the men dropped the borrowed iron of an axe into the water, God worked a miracle through Elisa to remedy the loss. Elisa threw a piece of wood in its place, causing the heavy iron to float to the surface and be retrieved.
Miracle on the Jordan: The Floating Iron
As long as Elisa was able to travel from place to place throughout the Kingdom of Israel, he maintained an active interest in the building of the prophet schools. Wherever he was, God was with him and gave him words to speak and the power to perform miracles. On one occasion the sons of the prophets said to Elisa: “Behold, the place where we are living before you is too cramped for us. Let us go to the Jordan and each fetch a beam, so that we may build a place there where we can dwell.” ... Elisa went with them to the Jordan, encouraged them by his presence, gave them instruction, and even performed a miracle to help them in their work. “And when one cut a beam, the iron fell into the water; and he cried out and said: ‘Woe, my Lord! and it is borrowed.’ But the man of God said: ‘Where has it fallen?’ And when he showed him the place, he cut off a piece of wood and threw it there; the iron floated. He then said: ‘Lift it up!’ So he stretched out his hand and took it.”
