Adventistische Schriften über: "Does God abandon us when we sin?"
Answer
God does not abandon His people, even when they err, because we have Jesus Christ as an intercessor with the Father who pleads for sinners. He turns away from a person permanently only when that person deliberately and resolutely leaves Him to serve the world and Satan. As long as a soul still longs for God, this is a sign that His Spirit is still urging and wants to move them to repentance.
God's infinite patience and intercession
God does not abandon His people, even when they err. He does not turn away in anger over any trivial matter. When they sin, they have an intercessor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous.
This intercessor pleads for sinners and the Father accepts His prayer. ... He, who loved you so much that He gave His own life for you, will not cast you out and abandon you, unless you deliberately and resolutely leave Him to serve the world and Satan. Jesus loves it when you come to Him as you are, hopeless and helpless.
Nothing can dishonor God more than these notions [that He hinders the sinner from repentance]. Nothing can harm your own soul more than harboring such thoughts about our heavenly Father. ... He hates sin; but out of love for sinners He gave Himself in the person of Christ so that all who will may be saved.
While the sinner is still far from his Father's house and wastes his possessions in a foreign land, the Father's heart longs for him; and every awakened desire in the soul to return to God is nothing other than the tender pleading of His Spirit.
But committing any known sin, neglecting known duties ... will destroy faith and separate the soul from God.
