Ellen Gould White
What does Ellen White write about...
Ellen Gould White über: "Does Ellen White write when the prophet Habakkuk warned the Southern Kingdom of the destruction by the Babylonians?"
Answer
Ellen White places the work and the concerned questions of the prophet Habakkuk in the period when King Josiah began to reign (and the years before). God revealed to Habakkuk at that time that, even within the lifetimes of those then living, the Babylonians would rise to preeminence and would suddenly break upon Judah as a punitive tribunal.
Habakkuk's Time and the Announcement of the Babylonian Threat
»At the time when Josiah began to reign, and many years before that, the upright in Judah wondered whether God's promises to the ancient Israel could ever be fulfilled. ... These anxious questions were expressed by the prophet Habakkuk. ... God heard the cry of His faithful children. Through His chosen mouthpiece He revealed His determination to discipline the people who had turned away from Him to serve the gods of the Gentiles. Even within the lifetimes of some who then inquired about the future, He intended to wonderfully direct the affairs of the ruling nations of the earth and to raise the Babylonians to a position of preeminence. These Chaldeans, “terrible and dreadful,” were to suddenly descend as a punitive tribunal ordained by God upon the land of Judah.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
