Ellen Gould White

What does Ellen White write about...

Ellen Gould White über: "Does Ellen White write that Moses announced the death of the firstborn to Pharaoh already at the beginning of the ten plagues (according to Exodus 4)?"

Answer

Ellen White confirms that already at the first demand for Israel's release, the warning of the most dreadful of all plagues, the death of the firstborn, was pronounced. God ordered this warning to make Pharaoh see the seriousness of the situation and to emphasize Israel's priority as His "firstborn son." Although this plague was threatened first, it ultimately became the final judgment because of God's mercy and Egypt's continued obstinacy.

Early warning of the final plague

»When the demand for Israel's release was first presented to the king of Egypt, the warning of the most dreadful of the plagues had been given. Moses was instructed to say to Pharaoh: "Thus says the Lord: Israel is My son, My firstborn son; and I say to you: Let My son go, that he may serve Me! But if you refuse to let him go, behold, I will kill your son, your firstborn son." ... The judgment that Egypt was first warned about was to be executed as the last.«

Moses delivers the message to Pharaoh

»While the children of Israel were in bondage to the Egyptians, the Lord instructed Moses to go to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and say: "Thus says the Lord: Israel is My son, My firstborn son; and I say to you: Let My son go, that he may serve Me! But if you refuse to let him go, behold, I will kill your son, your firstborn son." Moses delivered his message; but the proud king's response was: "Who is the Lord that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, and I will not let Israel go.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
