What does Ellen White write about...

Adventistische Schriften über: "Does Ellen G. White understand the declaration from the heavenly sanctuary in Revelation 16:17 (“... is already accomplished”) as the end of the grace period for all people, or does the end of the grace period occur before the seven last plagues? Please provide the exact source and context."

Answer

According to Ellen G. White, the end of the grace period clearly occurs before the pouring out of the seven last plagues. When Jesus ends His intercessory ministry in the heavenly sanctuary, each case is decided for life or death, after which He declares, “It is accomplished” (cf. Rev 22:11). Only after He has laid aside His priestly garment and left the sanctuary are the seven last plagues poured out as the unmixed wrath of God upon the earth.

The Conclusion of the Grace Period Before the Plagues

»When the message of the third angel is concluded, grace no longer intercedes for the guilty inhabitants of the earth. The people of God have completed their work. ... Then Jesus ends His intercession in the upper sanctuary. He lifts His hands and speaks with a loud voice: “It is accomplished”; and the whole heavenly host lays down its crowns, while He makes the solemn declaration: “Let those who do evil continue to do evil, and let those who are unclean continue to be unclean; and let those who are righteous continue to practice righteousness, and let those who are holy continue to be holy.” Each case is decided for life or death. ... When He leaves the sanctuary, darkness covers the inhabitants of the earth. In that dreadful time the righteous must live before the eyes of a holy God without a mediator. ... The ungodly have passed the limit of their grace period; the spirit of God, which was persistently resisted, has finally been withdrawn.«

The End of the Priestly Ministry and the Pouring Out of the Plagues

»I saw that Jesus would not leave the Most Holy Place until each case was decided either for salvation or for perdition, and that the wrath of God could not come until Jesus had completed His work in the Most Holy Place, laid aside His priestly garment, and clothed Himself with the garments of vengeance. Then Jesus will step forth between the Father and humanity, and God will no longer be silent but will pour out His wrath upon those who have rejected His truth. ... but when our High Priest has completed His work in the sanctuary, He will arise, put on the garments of vengeance, and then the seven last plagues will be poured out. I saw that the four angels would hold back the four winds until Jesus’ work in the sanctuary was done, and then the seven last plagues will come.«

Why I built EGW Vision

Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.

EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.

My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
