According to the present texts, keeping the commandments – especially the Sabbath – is made difficult for those who live in poverty and economic hardship, as they often lose the daily bread that sustains their lives.

Nevertheless, the Scriptures encourage trusting God, who prepares a way for the faithful and conscientious children, even in difficult circumstances to remain obedient.

The accounts show that self-sacrifice and trust in God often pave the way for keeping the commandments, although accompanied by reproach and material loss.
