The Holy Spirit is not described in the Scriptures merely as an impersonal force, but expressly as the third Person of the Deity. He possesses a distinct personality that enables Him to bear witness and to explore the deep mysteries of God.
\nAt the same time this divine Person acts as the mighty power of God, which is necessary to resist evil and to shape the character of Christ in the believer. Without the work of this third Person in His full divine power, victory over sin would not be possible.
