What does Ellen White write about...
Adventistische Schriften über: "Did Jesus have a human or a divine faith?"
Answer
Jesus Christ exercised during his earthly life a faith that corresponded to that of a real human, by completely relying on the power of his Father. He did not come to show what a God can do, but what a person can accomplish through faith in God's assistance, thus being a perfect example for us. His victory over temptation was only possible because, through this human faith, he claimed divine power.
Jesus acted as a man through faith
»The Lord Jesus came into our world not to reveal what a God could do, but what a person could do, through faith in God's power, to help in every crisis. Man should partake in the divine nature through faith and overcome every temptation that presses upon him. ... Jesus, the Redeemer of the world, could keep God's commandments only in the same way humanity can keep them.«
A life of constant dependence and trust
»Jesus lived in dependence on God and in fellowship with Him. ... But Jesus' life was a life of continual trust, sustained by ongoing fellowship; and his service for heaven and earth was without failure or hesitation. As a man he prayed at the throne of God until his humanity was charged with a heavenly stream that linked humanity with the deity.«
Walking by faith as we do
»He walked by faith, as we must walk by faith, and turned away from the crafty deceiver who pretended to doubt His divinity. ... As a representative of humanity he should endure human trials and leave a perfect example of submission and trust in God.«
Divine faith in human flesh
»Divinity and humanity are reunited again when the divine sense of Jesus Christ dwells in his divine faith in human flesh. Let them be united in you; and be glad and rejoice forever over it.«
Jesus' faith in our nature
»The true faith – the faith of Jesus – is that He, in the human nature He assumed, came exactly where we are, no matter how far we are from God in our sinfulness; that He, infinitely pure and holy as He is, ... willingly will dwell with us and in us, to save us, cleanse us and make us holy.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
