Adventistische Schriften über: "Dealing with Spiritual Challenges"
Answer
Dealing with spiritual challenges requires complete submission to God and firm resistance against the enemy in the name of Jesus, because we are powerless in our own strength. We win by joining our weak will with the divine strength of Christ, who has already secured victory on our behalf. Challenges themselves are not sin, as long as we withstand them through the "shield of faith" and persistent prayer, and give the tempter no room.
Victory through Divine Strength
We cannot rescue ourselves from the power of the tempter; he has defeated humanity, and if we try to stand in our own strength, we become prey to his schemes; but "the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." Satan trembles and flees from the weakest soul that finds refuge in this mighty name.
Christ as the Sole Defense
Only when Christ remains in a person through living faith, influencing his desires and strengthening him with power from above, can a person dare to face such a terrible enemy. Every other means of defense is completely futile. Only through Christ is Satan's power limited. ... The earnest prayer of faith will thwart his strongest efforts.
Resistance and the Role of the Will
The tempter has no power to control the will or force the soul into sin. He may press, but he cannot corrupt. He can cause anguish, but no defilement. The fact that Christ has triumphed should fill his followers with courage to manfully wage the fight against sin and Satan.
Give No Room
Our only security lies in giving the devil no room, for his suggestions and intentions always aim to harm us and prevent us from relying on God. ... It is unsafe to engage in discussions or negotiations with him. For every advantage we give the enemy, he will demand more.
Seeking God's Nearness
In the hour of greatest need, when discouragement overwhelms the soul, Jesus comes very near. The hour of man's distress is God's opportunity. He sees our danger and provides help...
