Ellen Gould White über: "Dealing with Indigenous Peoples"
Answer
The interaction with indigenous peoples and other cultures should be characterized by recognition of human dignity and equality before God, since biblical religion knows no differences based on race, caste, or color. All people belong, through creation and redemption, to a single family and therefore deserve friendly treatment, compassion, and respect for their rights. Instead of focusing on social status or origin, Christians should value the spirit of Christ in every person and share help and spiritual blessings without distinction.
God knows no racial differences
The religion of the Bible recognizes no caste or color. It ignores rank, wealth, and worldly honor. God values people as people. With Him, character determines their worth. And we should recognize the spirit of Christ in everyone, as it is revealed.
Treatment of strangers and other nations
They should treat the stranger kindly. He should not be looked upon condescendingly because he did not belong to Israel. The Israelites should love the stranger, because Christ certainly died to save him, just as He died to save Israel. ... In this way they would learn the law of Jehovah and glorify Him through their obedience.
The dignity of humanity as brotherhood
True courtesy ... ignores caste. It teaches self‑respect, respect for the dignity of a person as a human, and consideration for every member of the great human brotherhood.
All people are one family
No distinction based on nationality, race, or caste is recognized by God. He is the Creator of all humanity. All people are one family through creation, and all are one through redemption.
Justice and compassion
Precise and impartial justice must be shown toward the Black race. Christ calls on His servants to have tender compassion for the suffering, sympathy for the unfortunate, and generous consideration.
Adapting to people's life circumstances
Christ's servants should adapt to the diverse conditions of people. ... The work must be varied to meet people where they are.
- Equality of races
- Charity toward strangers
- Human brotherhood
