Adventistische Schriften über: "Daily surrender of life to God"
Answer
The daily surrender to God should be the very first act of the day, to shape life after the divine example. It involves entrusting all plans to God and giving up self‑will as well as confidence in one's own strength. Only through this constant connection and the daily struggle against the "self" can the Holy Spirit transform character and grant victory over temptations.
The dedication in the morning as the first priority
»Dedicate yourself to God in the morning; make this your very first work. Your prayer should be: "Take me, O Lord, wholly as Your possession. I lay all my plans at Your feet. Use me today in Your service. Stay with me and let all my work be done in You." This is a daily matter. Dedicate yourself each morning to God for this day. Surrender to Him all your plans so that they may be carried out or relinquished as His providence directs. Thus you can day by day place your life into God's hands, and your life will be increasingly shaped after the life of Christ.«
Surrender as a prerequisite for renewal
»The whole heart must be given to God, otherwise change can never be effected in us, through which we are to be restored again in His image. ... The capitulation of the self, the surrender of everything to God's will, requires a struggle; but the soul must submit to God before it can be renewed in holiness.«
Daily distrust of one's own self
»What does God require? Perfection, nothing less than perfection. But if we want to be perfect, we must not place trust in ourselves. Daily we must know and understand that the self cannot be trusted. We must grasp God's promises with firm faith. We must ask for the Holy Spirit with full awareness of our own helplessness. ... If we daily stand under the control of God's Spirit, we will be a people who keep the commandments.«
Complete capitulation of the will
»Holiness is not ecstasy: It is a complete surrender of the will to God; it is living according to every word that proceeds from God's mouth; it is doing the will of our heavenly Father; it is trusting God in trial, in darkness as well as in light; it is walking in faith and not in sight.«
Surrender of plans to God's providence
»Lay all your plans before God so that they may be carried out or relinquished as His providence directs. Accept His plans in place of your own, even if accepting them requires giving up valued projects. Thus life will be increasingly shaped after the divine example.«
Victory through constant submission
»I do not believe in myself and therefore have no confidence in my own power to overcome evil. ... Therefore I surrender my entire being to His control and allow Him to accomplish in me "both the willing and the working"... This means that I offer my body as a living sacrifice; that I do not willfully choose the path of disobedience; and that I do not consent to any conscious sin.«

Why I built EGW Vision
Hello, I am Stephan Krol. I started this Ellen White website to make the writings of Ellen G. White and the Adventist pioneers easier to access for everyone.
EGW Vision helps you find topics, statements, and quotes faster, especially when many original sources are not yet fully available in your language. The tool searches semantically, groups relevant content by topic, and presents matching results as clearly as possible in your language.
My hope is that this tool supports personal Bible study, strengthens trust in the original sources, and helps more people discover the message of these writings with clarity, depth, and joy.
